For many people, prayer is like a coded message. If you just use the right words, raise your hands the right way, pray enough times or in the right place...then maybe God will answer.
With help from the National Cryptologic Museum, Morning show host Jerry Woods explains why you know your message is getting through loud and clear when you pray.
There is an incredible amount of heat that has to be applied to mold and shape a piece of glass. And just when you think the process is over - it has to go back into the heat for several more days to harden and protect it...so it doesn't break.
It's like that with us, too. There's a verse in Romans (Romans 5:3-4) that talks about rejoicing in your sufferings...knowing that it produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. It's not an easy verse to embrace, because like most of us, we don't like pain.
